1 Carry-on Baggage

1.1 Notes to Passengers

China Southern Airlines will check your carry-on baggage before check-in and boarding. Please do check your carry-on items that exceed the limits to weight, number of pieces or volume. China Southern Airlines reserve the right to determine at our discretion whether your baggage needs to be transported as carry-on baggage or checked baggage, taking the safety and comfort of you as well as other passengers into account.

For the safety of passengers and crew members, please put your carry-on baggage in the rack above your seat or under the seat in front of you. Passengers seated near emergency exits (including those seated near wing exits and in the first row) must put their baggage in the overhead rack to ensure that the baggage will not hinder evacuation in case of emergency.

1.2 Limits for Carry-on Baggage

The passengers are required to check all the relevant regulations and information regarding carry-on baggage allowance and items allowed to be carried.

1.2.1 Rules of carry-on baggage for each passenger (excluding infants) are shown as below.

Note: Carry-on items that exceed the above limits to weight, number of pieces or volume should be transported as checked baggage. Please check your baggage at the check-in counter or self-service baggage checking equipment in advance. China Southern Airlines may inspect your baggage at check-in counter, security check counter, boarding gate and aircraft cabin. Your baggage exceeding the free baggage allowance will be charged as per excess baggage rate.

1.2.2 In addition to your carry-on baggage allowance listed above, you may bring the following carry-on items free of charge:

Helpful Tips：

I. Carry-on baggage with the sum of the three sides must not exceed 115 cm (approximately the size of a 20-inch suitcase). Detailed information is subject to the Airport Security Check Department.

II. Airport Security Check Department may adjust the scope of carry-on items depending on the security situation. Please cooperate with related department.

1.3 For routes operated fromKorea to China, fees will be charged when you check your baggage at the boarding gate. The standards are as follows:

2 Checked Baggage

2.1 Limitations of Baggage Weight and Size

Note: 1. During domestic segment of international flights, the free baggage allowance for every passenger shall be calculated in accordance with that of international itineraries; 2. Theabove specifications of baggage (including volume and weight) are the maximum dimensions that the Airlines can accept, not the free baggage allowance. You need to pay for the excess of free baggage allowance. 3. Any baggage exceed the above specifications must not be transported as passenger baggage. Therefore, it is recommended that you take apart the baggage as subpackage to ensure it meets the restrictions and thus can be checked as normal baggage. If any baggage cannot be separated, passengers are advised to consign it to Cargo Department of China Southern Airlines. 4. The specific baggage allowance is subject to the passenger ticket.

2.3 Preferential Policies

International student passengers, labor passengers and other passengers entitled extra free baggage allowance should submit their request and provide valid documents when purchasing tickets. China Southern Airline’s sale offices or authorized agents will confirm the baggage allowance.

2.3.1 International Student Passengers

For an international student passenger who purchases a Premium Economy Class or Economy Class, by meeting the following conditions, can add 1 piece of baggage as per the above standard for adults. Specific information is subject to the system.

2.3.1.1 International students refer to students under 30 years of age (excluding) who attend regular schools/colleges/universities in countries/regions other than their place of nationality. Copies of passport, visa and study certificate (student ID card, admission notice or invitation for visit and exchange, etc.) should be provided when purchasing tickets.

2.3.1.2 The preferential baggage allowance is only applicable to the fares for itineraries between the country/region of study and the country/region of nationality.

2.3.1.3 For an international student passenger who has already been entitled to the free checked baggage allowance for Sky Pearl Platinum, Gold and Silver Card members of China Southern Airlines, will not be entitled to the extra free checked baggage allowance for international student passengers.

2.3.1.4 The specific itineraries or fares are as follows:

(1) from/to China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to/from Singapore

(2) from/to China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to/from Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe (except Turkey), Africa, Central and West Asia and India

(3) from/to Mainland China to/from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan

(4) from/to Europe (except Turkey) to/from Australia/New Zealand

(5) from/to China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to/from South Korea, with preferential super economy class and preferential economy class

2.3.2 Labor Passengers

For a labor passenger who purchases a Premium Economy Class or Economy Class, by meeting the following conditions, can add 1 piece of baggage as per the above standard for adults. Specific information is subject to the system.

2.3.2.1 Labor passengers refer to passengers who work in countries other than the place of nationality. Copies of the passport and labor visa (except work visa) should be provided when purchasing tickets.

2.3.2.2 The preferential baggage allowance is only applicable to the fares for the itineraries between the country of employment and the country of nationality.

2.3.2.3 For a labor passenger who has already been entitled to the free checked baggage allowance for Sky Pearl Platinum, Gold and Silver Card members of China Southern Airlines, will not be entitled to the extra free checked baggage allowance for labor passengers.

2.3.2.4 The specific itineraries or fares are as follows:

(1) from/to China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to/from Southeast Asia, South Asia and Central and West Asia (except Tajikistan);

(2) from/to Korea to/from South Asia and Central and West Asia;

(3) from/to China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) to/from South Korea, with preferential super economy class and preferential economy class.

2.3.3 For flights between Europe, Area 3 and Area 1; flights between Area 3 and Europe: If excess baggage is a golf bag (not exceeding 23kg), no extra fees will be charged (only for flights operated by China Southern Airlines).

2.4 IATA Areas

Area 1: All of the North and South American Continents and the islands adjacent thereto, Greenland, Bermuda, the West Indies and the islands the Caribbean Sea, the Hawaiia Islands (including Midway and Palmyra).

Area 2: Europe, Africa and the islands adjacent thereto, Ascension Island and that part of Asia west of Ural mountains, including Iran and the Middle East.

Area 3: Asia and the islands adjacent thereto except the portion included in Area 2; the East Indies, Australia, New Zealand and the islands of the Pacific Ocean except those included in Area1.

Note: For international flights with segment(s) operated by China Southern Airlines, the free baggage allowance for each passenger is calculated as per applicable international flights specified in the IATA (International Air Transport Association) Resolution 302 Baggage Provisions Selection Criteria.

Please check your baggage at the check-in counter or self-service baggage checking equipment in advance. China Southern Airlines may inspect your baggage at check-in counter, security check counter, boarding gate and cabin. Your baggage exceeding the free baggage allowance will be charged as per excess baggage rate. By purchasing ‘Pre-paid Baggage’ in advance via our official website, you will be entitled to have discounts.

3 Excess Baggage

3.1 Domestic Routes

Regardless of the fare class actually paid by the passengers and the actual position of their seats, baggage carried on China Southern Airlines flights which exceeds the free baggage allowance will be charged according to the following excess baggage rates: Excess baggage is charged by each kilogram at a rate of 1.5% of the published normal fares of an adult Economy Class ticket price (one-way) applicable on the day the excess baggage ticket is filled; If no direct normal fares are published, the rate is calculated by adding different flights.

3.2 International/Regional Routes

For excess baggage purchased and passengers travel on/after 18 March, 2019 (inclusive)

Area 1: Routes between China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), Southeast Asia, Central and Western Asia, South Asia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and the Americas, Africa.

1. Any baggage that exceeds the limit on pieces, dimensions, or weight will be charged. If a baggage exceeds the standards of two or more limits among pieces, dimensions, and weight, it will be charged accumulatively.

3. Middle/West Asia routes refer to routes between China and Uzbekistan/Tajikistan/Kazakhstan/Kyrghyzstan/Turkmenistan/Iran/Pakistan/Azerbaijan/Georgia.
